New year, New Stamp Sets
On 3 January 2020 the new Stampin’ Up! Catalogue went live. As a demonstrator, I have been playing with some of the new products since december.
One of my favorite new Stamp Sets is “Breathtaking Bouquet” background stamp.
Technique Cards
I have been trying several ways of using this stamp set and have not found a favorite one yet. There are so many possibilities with this background stamp. For this card I did some watercoloring.
I heat embossed the image in white on watercolor paper. I used some bright colors to color the image: Blueberry Bushel, Bermuda Bay, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Pumpkin Pie, Poppy Parade and Blackberry Bliss. With my Aqa Painter, I first colored all the different parts of the image with a very light color. I made sure that the whole image is colored in lightly this way.
After the ink is completely dry, I started to color some accents. I used the same colors, but with less water.
It did not take much time, just a bit of fun coloring. I matted the watercolor image on a piece of whisper white cardstock and adhered it to a Blueberry Bushel cardbase.
I heat embossed the sentiment form the “Perennial Birthday” stamp set in white on a strip of Blueberry Bushel cardstock. I used the tipple banner punch to punch a banner end on the sentiment strip and adhered it with some dimensionals to the card front.
Stamping Inside The Card
I often only stamp on the front of the card. For this card I decided to add an extra piece of Whisper White on the inside, because the cardbase is fairly dark.
I stamped a second sentiment from the “Perennial Birthday” stamp set in Blueberry Bushel.
In the corner, I stamped part of the “Breathtaking Bouquet” stamp, also in Blueberry Bushel. With Wink of Stella I colored in the flowers and leaves, mixing in some of the Blueberry Bushel from the stamped image.
This really finishes the card.
I really enjoy playing with this stamp set and can’t wait to make some more cards.
