Quick card making with the Floral Essence bundle
Usually for me, it takes several hours to make a card. Today I didn’t have much time but really felt the need to do some stamping and make a card. I chose the “Floral Essence” stamp set and the “Perennial Flower Punch” to make a quick card. The Floral Essence Bundle is the first set I chose from the new 2019-2020 Annual Stampin’ Up! Catalogue.
Perennial Flower Punch
I stamped the flower part, that matches the punch, with my Stamparatus on Highland Heather cardstock. First, I stamped the image in Gorgeous Grape and than with Versamark. I stamped four flower parts and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. Together, the four parts make a beautiful Purple flower.
Smooching technique
For the background I took a piece of watercolor paper (3 7/8” by 3”) and using a “smooching technique”, I colored the paper with Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape ink. To do the smooching technique, I put some Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape ink on a craft sheet and spritzed some water on the ink. Than, I dipped a piece of watercolor paper in the ink and moved the paper and ink around until I was happy with the result. I adhered the watercolor paper to a piece of Purple Posy cardstock (3 7/8” by 5 1/2”) and adhered it with some foamtape to a Whisper White card base (8 1/4” by 5 3/4” scored and folded in half).
To hide the edge of the watercolor paper, I covered it with a piece of white ribbon, that I colored with my dark Highland Heather Stampin Blend.
I adhered the flower with a dimensional to the front of the card and used a Clear Faceted Gem for the center of the flower. I die-cut some leaves and sprigs with the Leaf and the Sprig Punch out of Sparkle Glimmer paper. With a bit of glue, I adhered the leaves and sprigs behind the flower.
The sentiment “Cheers to You” is from the “Itty Bitty Birthdays” stamp set, and I heat embossed it in white on a piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock. I punched out the sentiment with a 1 1/4” circle punch and adhered it to a piece of Purple Posy cardstock, punched out with the 1 3/8” scallop circle punch.
The top part of the card needed some extra sprakle, so I embellished it with three Glitter Enamel Dots in Gorgeous Grape.
That finishes my quick card. I hope you like my card and would love to read your comments.
