Special Birtday Gift
For my best friend and fellow stamper, I had to make something pretty special. We both fell in love with the Noble Peacock Speciality DSP, so I decided to use it to make something for her birthday. I had two gifts (a set fo SU dies and some SU rhinestones) and made a folder to fit those gifts.
Cover and Pocket
I made a front and a back for the cover with Pretty Peacock cardstock and lined the inside with stamped paper. I used the Daisy Lane stamp set and some Pretty Peacock and Old Olive ink to stamp on a piece of Whisper White cardstock. I attached a diagonal pocket on the inside of both the front and back cover to hold the two gifts.
Before I adhered the front cover to the back cover, I made a pocket for a Birthday Card from Old Olive cardstock. I adhered the Front cover to the front of the pocket and the back cover to the back of the pocket.
To decorate the pocket, I stamped one of the flowers in Pretty Peacock on Whisper White cardstock.
I colored the center of the flowers with gold Shimmer Paint. The Leaves were stamped with Old Olive ink.
On the back of the pocket I just stamped the outline flower form the Floral Essence stamp set in Old Olive ink, for a tone on tone look.
Birthday Card
The birthday card, inside the pocket was also made using the Floral Essence Stamp Set.
I heat embossed a flower and some leaves with gold embossing powder on watercolor cardstock. With my aquapainter I colored the flower with some Pretty Peacock ink and the leaves with Old Olive ink.
I heat embossed the sentiment in gold and colored the background with an aquapainter and some ink.
I used Vegas Gold Shimmer paint to color the center of the flower and to splatter on the front of the card. The rhinestones are some of the Noble Peacock Rhinestones.
Decorating the outside folder
The Old Olive design from the Noble Peacock Speciality DSP was used to decorate the front and back of the folder.
I made a clasp to close and open de folder using some strong magnets.
The clasp is also a decorative element on the front of the folder using one of the beautiful sentiments form the retired “Incredible Like You” stamp set.
I also made a flower and some leaves from vellem, to further decorate the front. The flower was made with de Perennial Essence Flower Punch. I stamped with Pretty Peacock ink and then clear embossed on clear vellum and colored the back of the flower with the Pretty Peacock Blend. The leaves were stamped with Old Olive ink en then clear embossed on Old Olive vellum. I used the Leaf Punch to punch out the leaves. With the Sprig Puch, I punched two sprigs from clear vellum.
Matching Gift Bag
Now all I had to do was make a matching gift bag.
I made the bag similarly to the one I posted earlier on my blog. You can find instructions and a template here. I changed the direction of the A4 cardstock to mak the bag fit the folder.
I stamped the outline flower and leaf form the Floral Essence stamp set in Memento black on two sheets of A4 Soft Sea Foam cardstock. I colored the flowers with the Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Blends. The leaves were colored with Old Olive Stampin’ Blends.
After coloring, I scored, folded and adhered the pieces of cardstock to make a fold flat Gift Bag. The handles are made with the beautiful Old Olive / Pretty Peacock reversible ribbon.
Last but not least, I colored the centers of the flowers with Vegas Gold Shimmer paint. I left the bag overnight to dry.
With the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and a 2” strip of Soft Sea Foam cardstock I made a tag. With the Hand-Lettered Prose dies I die-cut the letters of my friend’s name from Whisper White cardstock and colored them with Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Blends.
I used some green tissue paper to wrap the gift before putting it in the gift bag.
My friend really loved the beautiful folder and gift bag. And of course she enjoys her gift ☺️.
Wat een prachtig cadeau , zo. Wow!!
Zeker weten!!!
