Sale-A-Bration Second Release & coordination
On 15 February, Stampin’ Up! launched new Sale-Bration products. One of the new products is the “Painted Seasons Bundle”. This is a level 2 product which means you get this bundle for free if you place an order of at least €120,-. The bundle consits of the stamp set “ Painted Seasons” and a pack of 12 double sided sheets of Painted Seasons DSP. There are four different double sided designs, so you get three of each. Each design representats one of the four Seasons.
On 1 March Stampin’ Up releases products that coördinatie with de Sale-A-Bration product. They are for sale for costumers from 1 to 31 March. Because I am a demonstrator I was able to preorder these coordination products. For the Painted Season there is a set of dies that coördinate with the stamp set: the Four Seasons Framelits Dies.
Treat bags with Painted Seasons DSP
I wanted to make something with the beautiful designs of the Painted Seasons DSP. For each of the four seasonal designs of the DSP I chose a matching color cardstock: Coastal Cabana, Grapefruit Grove, Poppy Parade and Lemon Lime Twist.
Out of a piece of cardstock measuring 4” by 7 1/8” I made a mini treatbag. On the short side you only score at 1”. On the long side you score at 2 3/8”, 3 3/8”, 5 3/4” and 6 3/4”. Also on the long side you score at 2 7/8” and 6 1/4” but only for 2 1/2” deep, so you stop at 1/2” from the bottom score line. You then burnish all the complete score lines and cut as indicated in the template below.
You als0 score four diagonal lines as indicated in the template. Then you adhere the side of the bag to the back of the bag. You fold in the bottom flaps and glue them together. To get the shape of a gift bag you then pinch in the sides of the bag so they fold at the score lines.
Top part for the treat bags
To close the bag we are going to make a top part out of DSP. To make the top part you need a piece of DSP measuring 2 3/4” by 7 3/8”. You only score at the long side at 1/2”, 1”, 3 1/2”, 4”, 4 1/2” and at 7”. You burnish the score lines and make sure you fold the sides inwards. You adhere the side of the top part to the back with the 3/8” flap.
To close the top part you punch out two small holes at the top and weave in a matching ribbon. You close the ribbon with a double knot.
Embellishing the mini treat bags
When you slide the top part over the treat bag, you have a beautiful closed mini treatbag.
To embellish, I decided to stamp the images from the stamp set in matching colors on whisper white paper.
As you can see in the picture above, the images stamp beautifully with just one color ink and a clear block.
I decided to use my I Stamparatus to do this, to be able to add some more color to the stamp by inking op part of the stamp with a different color Stampin’ Write marker. I then die-cut all the stamped images with the four Seasons Framelits Dies.
I used the sentiment “Enjoy” from the “Dear Doily” stamp set and die-cut the sentiment with the smalest stitched oval die. Together with the die-cut images, I adhered the sentiment with dimensionals to the top part of the gift bag.
I love how well matched these small treat bags turned out. They are perfect for a small gift or a chocolate treat.
