Stampin’ Up! Verdant Garden Cards

Green Inspiration

Last week, I visited a friend to do some stamping. I chose the “Verdant Garden” stamp set to make some cards. Although green is not my first choice in color, I really liked the results.

Two Step Stamping

For the first card, I stamped on a Whisper White card base. I used the two step stamps from the set and stamped in Soft Sea Foam en Mint Macaron ink. From the matching Gaden Lane DSP, I chose a design to cut two squares to complement the background.

I used te big leaf stamp as a focal point and stamped it in Garden Green ink on the biggest stitched oval die-cut and matted it with a Mossy  Meadow scalloped oval. I colored all the small leaves with Wink of Stella to make them sparkle and let the color bleed a little.

Butterfly Garden

For the second card I chose a design with leaves from the Garden Lane DSP. I cut a small strip and matted it with a strip of Garden Green cardstock. I used the leaf stamp to stamp on the Whisper White card base. I stamped several times, making it look like a long vine, covered with the DSP. The garden theme works great with the Butterfly gala stamps and punch. I made one of the big sentiments from the Butterfly Gala stamp set, the focal point of the card.

To decorate the card I made a few butterflies from the new vellum papers. I stamped some butterflies on the green vellum, using Garden Green ink. As the ink dries very slowly on vellum, I was able to stick some clear embossing powder on top. I then heat set the embossing powder and punched out the butterflies.
